This post outlines the beginning of what a simple 7 day detox diet menu plan might look like. Now remember that my idea of a detox diet is not one of starvation or juicing. It’s about following a clean plan that works to bust sugar cravings and boost weight loss.
The average weight loss of people who have followed the entire 7 day plan is 4kg/ 8.8lb in just 7 days!

Now the food rules for the program are not as strict as you might think and yet you can still get great results!
The great part is you can still eat delicious food too 🙂
7 Day Detox Diet Menu Plan
Here is a 2 day sample menu to show you how to put a clean eating routine together. I’ll also include the supplementation routine to follow too.
Upon waking: Have a body tonic drink (see below for recipe). This helps to cleanse and alkalise your body, and boost weight loss. You can read more about that here.
Next, fill a 2 litre water bottle with fresh filtered drinking water. Or if you don’t have a 2 litre bottle, then fill 2 smaller ones. Add 1 teaspoon vitamin C powder and 1 teaspoon of magnesium powder to the water. Your job is to get through the 2 litres every single day. Shake it before you drink.
Mid morning: A delicious green smoothie
Lunch: Nori salad tuna wrap – take an extra dose of vitamin C (about 1 teaspoon – read the label of your powder)
Afternoon tea: Veggie sticks with guacamole
Dinner: Beef coconut curry with 1/2 cup brown rice or cauliflower rice – take your probiotic as recommended on the label
Take an extra dose of magnesium
Upon waking: Have a body tonic drink.
Fill your water bottle with added vitamin C and magnesium
Breakfast: Clean chicken soup – soups make an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner during a cleanse or detox. Take your milk thistle supplement.
Mid morning: A raw carrot with 1 tablespoon nut butter like almond butter
Lunch: Wombok salad with some fish, chiken or steak – take an extra dose of vitamin C (about 1 teaspoon – read the label of your powder)
Afternoon tea: Chicken strips dipped in bell pepper sauce – I’ll share the recipe tomorrow 🙂
Dinner: Pesto pan fried fish with veggies – take your probiotic as recommended on the label
Take an extra dose of magnesium
It’s that easy!
This is the style of eating and supplement pattern you would follow for the entire 7 days, it’s really that easy! As you can see we’ve got a high vegetable intake, which helps alkalise your body, promote healthy gut bacteria, bulk up your diet, and get you off the sugar and nasties. There’s no starvation and you can eat really delicious food so there’s no reason why you can’t stick to this for 7 days.
You do have to be a little organised so I’d recommend you do sit down and write a plan of what you are going to eat. I’ll be sharing some more recipe tomorrow and you can use the menu plan above to get you started on a shopping list.
Morning Body Tonic Drink Recipe
Place the juice of half a lemon and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a mug. Fill the mug with boiling water until 3/4 full. Add enough cold water so that it’s cool enough to drink. Have it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
