Getting Started With Good Nutrition
Hi there and welcome!
I’m Jedha, resident nutritionist (MNutr.BSSc.), real food lover, anti-inflammatory diet enthusiast, and founder of Good Food Eating.
I’m so glad you’re here because that means you’re interested in finding a solution to your current health problems and concerns, and that’s great because I can help.
“Health Conditions Can Be Conquered”
I’m a big believer in the healing capacity of the human body and know from experience (and research) that most conditions can be improved or conquered through quality nutrition.
“Food IS Our Medicine”
That’s a quote that the famous Greek physician Hippocrates said back in 400BC. He had it right back then, and the same rings true now.
The food we eat has the power to heal.
In modern times we’ve forgotten what real food is. And since we’ve all begun eating more and more packaged and processed foods, our health has rapidly kept declining. But, we can change it!
Good Food is the basis for good health, vibrant energy, and living a life you love, and that’s exactly what this site is all about.
I hope to inspire you to get back inside your kitchen, eat real food, and as a result, improve your health dramatically.
Since there’s lots of great stuff hiding deep in the trenches of the Good Food Eating website, I’ve put together a collection of helpful things to get you started.
I love hearing from you, so if you ever want to chat – leave your comments on any of the posts on this site and I’ll get back to you. New weekly posts go up on the blog/ home page, so check in regularly for new inspiration.
So you don’t miss anything, join my email list for weekly updates and receive my Anti-Inflammatory Food List & 3 Day Meal Plan. It’s helped loads of people start eating better, and it can probably help you too.
Now for the list of helpful resources.
Inflammation is at the base of most health conditions
Did you know that low-grade inflammation in the bodies cells can be one of the biggest contributors to many conditions?
I did my Masters thesis in the area of nutrition and inflammation, and it really is quite amazing that inflammation is at the core of most health conditions – see a list of conditions here.
The great thing is we can use food to reduce inflammation and promote health – science proves it!

Everyone’s biggest struggle…SUGAR!
After working in the field of nutrition for sometime it’s pretty clear that the one thing most people struggle with is sugar or overloading on carbs. Are you sitting there nodding your head?
We are surrounded by the stuff so it does make it particularly difficult, and we all know it’s totally addictive. BUT one thing is for certain, if you can quit or at least cut down on the sugar, your whole life will change.
Here are a few things that can help with sugar cravings. Be sure to use the tips because they really do work. 🙂
GFE Podcast #20: Dealing with Sugar Cravings – Downloadable cheat sheet at the bottom of the post
You’ll find gluten free, sugar free, healthy whole food recipes on this website. Many of them are paleo and primal friendly, allergy friendly – and I’ve got more vegan/ vegetarian stuff coming (it’s something I get asked about a lot).
Most importantly the recipes you’ll find here are easy and tasty.
Weight loss is not about just looking good, sure we want that too, but really it’s about gaining better health.
As our fat cells increase, inflammation increases in the body and the development of many health conditions does too. Most of us want to lose a bit of weight or need to, trust me I was 20 kg/45 lbs overweight at one stage too. I understand how it feels to be stuck there but I also know how great it feels to lose it and get into shape!
So here’s some resources to help out.
