September has been an interesting month for me. We had a near death close to the family with my sons girlfriend having a bad car accident. She ended up in a coma with bleeding in the brain and it was a one of those situations that really brings you into the present moment.
You think about every little thing and how much you take for granted and what you can do to get more out of every single day. Being grateful and not letting opportunities slip you by. Fully Loving Life!!
Have you had moments like that?
Thankfully Kaity pulled through, shes out of the coma and although she has some rehab to go through, I think she will probably have a full recovery. Thank you God, the Universe or whatever higher power there is up there 🙂
Anyway here we are at the end of yet another month, they sure fly by!
Lots to come over the next couple of months here at Good Food Eating. A new podcast, some new programs, my first speaking event, some media coverage, an exam, and loads of other things too. So I hope you’ll be around to share them.
Things I love
For now, I’d like to share some wonderful things I’ve found around the web this month.
Being that we want to be grateful, perhaps we can work on ways to reduce trash.
Here’s a few fruit and veggie wash techniques to remove dirt, wax and other things.
Many supermarket brands sell cottage cheese that contains additives and preservatives. So why not learn to make homemade cottage cheese. I’m going to give it a try.
Have you heard of using turmeric for pain relief? It really works so try adding it to cooking, in a juice and making curries. Delicious.
I’m not really one for chewing but if you are you really should know the health dangers of chewing gum.
And what about some delicious or interesting recipes I’ve come across…
Carrot juice crepes that are grain free and look delicious.
3 ingredient homemade chocolate bars. I’d probably use rapadura sugar or molasses instead.
These curried spice pumpkin seeds look like a great handy snack.
And a few ideas for healthy snacks.
I hope October brings you happiness and joy.
Be grateful every day. We really are blessed.
